I'm curious how everybody consumes their media this day and age. Do you watch on your tv, your phone, or on your computer at work? Do you still stick with physical media, do you purchase from itunes, or do you only want DRM free direct downloads?

Personally I like to watch on the TV when I have the time but if I can't get time to myself with the tv then I'll just watch on the computer. As for how I get it that varies based on the fact that no one device seems to be the best for every service. Lately I've been falling in love with Vimeo more, especially with the single purchase episodes of Drive+ and the tons and tons of short films on there.

So how do you watch Oppo?

All of the above, I suppose—though there's certainly no iTunes in the picture. I tend to get anything that I want to watch in really high quality - for the sake of the effects and the spectacle - on disk, and then stream everything else. When it comes to games, though, I'm digital all the way—well, unless it's something I can only get on a console, in which case I'll probably grab the disk, because the online prices are just ridiculous.

Torrents, then usually watch them on either my PC, or my phone if I'm on the road or train.

I watch Netflix and Amazon Prime mostly on my 50" living room tv with my PS3. I also have a Sony media streamer box kinda like a Roku hooked up to the 39" upstairs for the same. For things not on streaming I torrent them and either stream them over DLNA to those boxes, or if DLNA doesn't cooperate then I plug my laptop into the tv. Certain sports things that only work in a browser I also plug in the laptop.

My kitchen doesn't have a view of the living room tv, so if I'm watching a game and cooking I'll stream the game on my laptop in the kitchen.

If I want to watch something in bed it's on my iPad, since my upstairs tv is in the guest room. We didn't want to have a tv in our bedroom but occasionally I feel like watching something when I go to bed.

I've got my 43" Samsung plasma in my room (you don't know how nice these new plasmas really are; especially for the true blacks) and usually use my Xbox One since it has Netflix and a Blu Ray Player. I have 5.1 surround with Polk speakers in my room so it always sounds great!

The living room we have a 55" LG and use the PS3 for the same reasons. They have 7.1 Bose in there so the sound is even better... but there isn't a bed for me to lay in!

Mostly on my laptop, but I prefer on my tv when I'm home. Also, although I love Netflix and the like, I still go out of my way to hunt down physical copies of my favorite shows.

Usually Netflix or bootleg Netflix (solar movie.so) if Netflix doesn't have it streaming. If I really want to watch a new movie, I usually wait a few weeks and catch a matinee show at the local movie theater.

I watch on my PC so I can multitask while it's playing in the background.

With my eyes man!

Seriously mostly Netflix or my PS4 on Blu-ray/DVD. Occasionally the movie channels (HBO, Cinemax, and the lot) if there's something good on. Occasionally FX or FXX if it's a good movie like Superbad, Comedy Central too I guess but those edited versions aren't as enjoyable.

Amazon Prime through a Roku3 to my TV, I also use Plex to stream locally hosted media to the Roku or any other device that supports it. Additionally you can log into the plex server remotely and stream to yourself when away from home.

I watch a decent amount of netflix/amazon/hulu on my ps4 hooked up to my living room TV. I also have a decent sized DVD/Blu-ray collection and those play on the PS4 as well. My old PS3 is now in the bedroom, so I have the same functionality there on a slightly smaller screen.

The last several seasons of Top Gear, I've downloaded them with my laptop and then plugged the laptop into a spare HDMI input on my receiver to watch them on the TV in the living room. Now that BBCA is going to show the whole episode the day after it airs in the UK, I'll just DVR it and watch it off satellite

Torrents, I travel and mostly use a wide laptop. I tried to watch some things but I just find everything in one place with torrents and its super easy. I do get some stuff from youtube, I am a huge sumo fan and there are two English speakers on there. F1 is pretty much torrent because I like BBC or Sky.

That's about a perfect match for what I do. I just wish prime and vimeo worked on the Chromecast.

I lucked out and got an 82" DLP for cheap right when DLP TVs stopped being mass manufactured. Audio is routed to an old, but "great for its time" Pioneer receiver with Sony floor standing speakers and a lower end Polk Audio(?) subwoofer. So that's my main setup.

Movies then predominantly come from a Sony BluRay player, either from Redbox rentals or the Amazon Prime app built into it. On occasion, I will watch something by attaching a laptop to the TV via HDMI or through Charter's digital cable box. YouTube content is played back through a Chromecast.

Ok. Install Google Chrome and the Google Cast extension on it. Sync your Google Cast extension to your Chromecast and navigate your browser to whatever Vimeo or Prime page you wish to watch a video on. Start the video, then cast that tab to your Chromecast. Maximise the video and it will go full screen on your TV but still allow you to navigate freely on other tabs without interrupting the video stream to your TV. You can essentially cast any Google Chrome tab to your TV this way.

I've done that and it just runs like shit on my setup. I don't know if it's my network or my isp but whatever it is it does not like it.

It may be your actual computer. Even at our place, there's a larger lag and buffer difference when streaming from the browser. I know upgrading to 64-bit Chrome helped a lot, but it's still not perfect. Trying searching to 3rd-party Vimeo and Prime chromecast apps? I remember reading about a Primecast app or something recently.

Yeah, it's definitely not my computers. The 3rd party apps all seem kind of glitchy. It's not a big deal for me because I have other means like the family Wii U or my smart tv functions. I was just curious how you do it.
